Twice a year the research magazine Science_365 presents a key subject related selection of exciting research projects and results gathered from all 6 faculties of the University of Cologne.
Reportages, portraits and interviews offer a look behind the scenes and give an insight into the research projects and the daily life of academic work.

In dieser extrem konsum- und leistungsorientierten Welt gibt es nicht für jeden Platz.
Für Menschen die ein anderes Tempo haben, sich nicht so leicht anpassen können, ist es schwer sich zurecht zu finden. Einige trotzen dem System und gehen ihren eigenen Weg.
Es gibt viele Alkoholiker, Junkies und andere Obdachlose, denen es einfach “passiert” ist, auf der Strasse zu landen. Und dann gibt es eine Handvoll Stadt- und Landstreicher, die den Weg bewusst gewählt haben.
Vielleicht nicht immer direkt das Leben auf der Strasse, aber immer ein Leben außerhalb unseres Systems.
Sie brauchen nichts, sie haben nichts und sie wollen auch nichts.
Manchmal habe ich das Gefühl in Momos Welt zu leben und die Grauen Männer stehlen die Zeit…
Die Stadtstreicher lassen sich nicht darauf ein. Dafür bewundere ich sie.
In dieser Serie geht es um Menschlichkeit und Anonymität.
Ihre Schlafplätze sind anonym wie ihr Leben.
Urban vagrants
This consum- and efficiency orientated world does not offer a proper place for everybody.
Some people, who live with a different speed, who don’t adapt easily, have difficulties to find their way. Some defy the system and cut their own path.
Many urban vagrants are alcoholics, junkies and other homeless people, who accidentally ended up living on the streets. And then there is also a smaller group of urban vagrants, who consciously choose this way of living. Not necessarily the live on the street but always a live outside the system.
They don’t need anything, don’t own anything and don’t ask for anything.
Sometimes I feel like living in Momo’s world with grey men steeling our time…
The urban don’t want to be part of this game and I admire them for this.
The subject of this series is humanity and anonymity.
Their sleeping place is just as anonymous as their life.
